Last updated: June 2026 · GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG)
1. Controller
The controller responsible for the processing of personal data on this website and in connection with the purchase and licensing of Clear Voice Live is:
- Name
- Fabio Schurischuster
- Address
- Reininghausstraße 49–51, 8020 Graz, Austria
- info@clearvoice.live
- VAT ID
- ATU67331336
For full provider details, see the Imprint.
2. General
This Privacy Policy explains which personal data we process when you visit our website, purchase Clear Voice Live, or otherwise interact with us — for what purposes, on which legal basis, with which recipients, for how long, and what rights you have.
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (Art. 4(1) GDPR).
3. Hosting
This website is hosted on servers operated by Host Europe GmbH, Hansestraße 111, 51149 Köln, Germany. The host processes the data described under "Server log files" on our behalf as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
4. Server log files
When you access this website, the host's web server automatically records the following data in server log files:
- the IP address of the requesting device;
- the date and time of the request;
- the requested URL and the HTTP status code;
- the volume of data transferred;
- the referrer (the previously visited page);
- the user agent (browser and operating-system information).
Purpose: ensuring the technical operation of the website, protection against misuse, and error analysis.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website).
Retention: the host deletes these log files automatically after a short period (around 30 days).
5. Web analytics (Plausible)
To understand how our website is used and to improve it, we use Plausible Analytics, which we self-host on our own infrastructure at analytics.clearvoice.live. No data is shared with third parties for this purpose.
Plausible is cookieless: it sets no cookies and does not store any identifier on your device. It does not track you across websites, does not build user profiles, and we do not sell any data. All measurement data is aggregated (e.g. number of page views, referring sources, country, browser and device type) and does not allow us to identify you as an individual.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in privacy-friendly, aggregated reach measurement).
6. Fonts
This website uses the typefaces "Oswald", "DM Sans" and "JetBrains Mono". The font files are served directly from our own server. No data is transmitted to any third party (in particular not to Google).
7. Cookies and storage on your device
This website sets no cookies — neither our own nor third-party cookies. Our analytics (see section 5) is cookieless, and there is no advertising, no cross-site tracking and no reach measurement that relies on cookies.
The only information our software stores on your device is the local trial token described in section 12, which is strictly necessary to provide the free trial and is never transmitted to us. Aside from that token, neither the website nor the software stores or reads any information on your device.
The one exception is our checkout: when you actively start a purchase by clicking a "Buy" button, our checkout provider FastSpring (see section 9) loads its checkout library, which stores information strictly necessary to run the checkout on your device (such as a session and cart identifier in your browser's local storage). This is loaded only when you start a purchase — never during normal browsing — and relies on the exemption for storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested (§165(3) TKG 2021).
8. Newsletter / pre-launch signup
On our homepage we offer the option to sign up to be notified about Clear Voice Live. For this purpose we process only your email address.
Processor: Sendinblue SAS (brand "Brevo"), 106 Boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France. Brevo acts as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR; the data is stored on servers within the European Union.
Procedure: we use the double opt-in procedure. After you enter your email address, you receive a confirmation email; you are only added to the list after you click the confirmation link.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — either by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or by an informal message to info@clearvoice.live.
Retention: we retain your email address until you withdraw your consent. We use this signup only to send you news about Clear Voice Live, such as its launch, new versions and new products; if you withdraw your consent, your address is deleted.
9. Purchase and payment (FastSpring)
Purchases of Clear Voice Live are processed through FastSpring (Bright Market, LLC d/b/a FastSpring, 801 Garden Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, USA). FastSpring acts as our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record: it is the seller of record for your purchase and handles the entire checkout, payment and invoicing process.
In connection with your purchase, FastSpring collects and processes the data you provide — in particular your name, email address, billing address and payment data — as its own independent controller. We do not receive or store any payment-card data.
Checkout library: the checkout runs as an in-page overlay. When you start a purchase, your browser loads FastSpring's checkout library ("Store Builder Library") from FastSpring's servers in the USA and stores checkout session/cart identifiers on your device — both strictly necessary to provide the checkout you requested. This library is not loaded while you simply browse the site; it loads only when you actively begin a purchase.
International transfer: because FastSpring is based in the USA, your data may be processed in the United States. FastSpring covers this transfer through appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR (EU Standard Contractual Clauses) and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).
Retention: as an independent controller and Merchant of Record, FastSpring determines for how long it retains the purchase and payment data it processes; please refer to FastSpring's own privacy policy for its retention terms. Invoice-related records are retained for the periods required by applicable law.
Details: for information on how FastSpring handles your data, please see FastSpring's own privacy policy, available on the FastSpring website.
10. License issuance
After a completed purchase, FastSpring transmits to us (via a webhook) the name and email address of the buyer. We use this information to generate a personalised, cryptographically signed license file for Clear Voice Live.
Source of this data: we do not collect the buyer's name and email address directly from you for this step; we obtain them from FastSpring (Art. 14 GDPR). The categories of personal data we receive are limited to your name and email address.
The buyer's name and email address are embedded in the license file as a soft watermark. The license file, together with a minimal order log (e.g. order reference and date), is stored on our server. This storage is located on the same EU-based hosting infrastructure as our website (Host Europe GmbH, Germany), so this data remains within the EU/EEA.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract, i.e. delivery of the licensed software and license support).
Retention: we retain the name and email address for as long as needed to provide license support and to re-issue your license (for example after a device change), and for the period required by statutory retention obligations. As the party issuing the license and keeping the order log, we are subject to the Austrian record-keeping duties under §132 BAO (federal fiscal code) and §212 UGB (commercial code), which generally require invoice- and accounting-related records to be retained for 7 years. Invoice and payment records are also held by FastSpring as Merchant of Record (see section 9).
11. License delivery email
Your license file is delivered to you by email. For this transactional email we use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, see section 8) as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR; the data is stored on servers within the European Union. This delivery flow is provided via Brevo once sales go live.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract).
Product news to customers. When you purchase, we add your name and email address to a separate customer list (held at Brevo, see section 8) so that we can occasionally email you about new versions and new products of Clear Voice Live. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR together with the existing-customer exemption under §174(4) TKG 2021 (direct marketing of our own similar products). You may object at any time, free of charge — use the unsubscribe link in any such email or write to info@clearvoice.live, and we will remove you from the customer list.
12. Free trial / trial token
The free trial of Clear Voice Live is enforced entirely on your own device. To detect whether the trial period has expired, the software stores a technical identifier — derived from your device's hardware — on your device (in the system registry and a local file), so it can recognise the trial state on the machine on which the software is installed.
This identifier is not transmitted to us and is not used to track or identify you. It serves the sole purpose of recognising the trial state on the device on which the software is installed and of preventing the trial from being trivially reset.
Because this involves storing and reading information on your device, we rely on the exemption for storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you have explicitly requested (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive / §165(3) TKG 2021). No consent banner is required, because the token is essential to deliver the trial functionality you requested and is used for no other purpose.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the trial you requested, as a pre-contractual measure).
13. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (email address, message content and, where applicable, your name) in order to handle your enquiry.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry).
Retention: until the matter has been dealt with and any applicable statutory retention periods have expired.
14. Beta feedback form
On the page /evaluation.html we collect voluntary, anonymous feedback from our beta testers. For this we process only:
- the answers you enter into the form (hardware setup, sound ratings, statements, notes);
- the timestamp of the submission.
We collect no IP address, no cookies and no tracking pixels on this page. Individual beta testers cannot be identified.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving the product before its public release).
Retention: until the public release of Clear Voice Live; thereafter the raw data is deleted and only aggregated, fully anonymised evaluations are archived.
15. Recipients and data sharing
Your personal data is shared with, or received from, only the recipients named above, for the purposes described:
- Host Europe GmbH (hosting and license-file/order-log storage) — processor, Art. 28 GDPR;
- Sendinblue SAS / Brevo (newsletter and license delivery email) — processor, Art. 28 GDPR;
- FastSpring / Bright Market, LLC (purchase and payment) — independent controller as Merchant of Record; FastSpring is also the source from which we receive the buyer's name and email address for license issuance (section 10).
Apart from the transfer to the USA by FastSpring described in section 9, your data is not transferred to any third country outside the EU/EEA.
16. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR, and we do not carry out profiling.
17. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15);
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16);
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten", Art. 17);
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18);
- Data portability (Art. 20);
- Objection to certain processing (Art. 21);
- Withdrawal of consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
The right to erasure may be limited by statutory retention obligations — in particular the Austrian tax and commercial record-keeping duties under §132 BAO and §212 UGB. Where these apply, certain invoice- and accounting-related data may be retained until those periods expire, even after you exercise your right to erasure; such data is then blocked from further processing.
Please direct any such request to info@clearvoice.live.
18. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria, the competent authority is:
Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde)
Barichgasse 40–42
1030 Vienna
www.dsb.gv.at
You may also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in the EU/EEA Member State of your habitual residence or place of work (Art. 77 GDPR).
19. Changes to this policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy where legal requirements or the procedures we use change. The current version is always available on this page.
